FiveFingers at the New York MarathonUniNews
Remember going barefoot as a child? What started as a project at the Faculty of Design and Art, the student Robert Fliri has turned into a huge business with the help of Vibram. The “FiveFingers”  not only got coverage in local newspapers but also in “La Repubblica” and the “New York Times”, as many runners have decided to run this year’s New York Marathon with the innovative sole.

Experiencing that same physical sensation as going barefoot as a child is the idea behind  FiveFingers, that keeps you running with the protection of a Vibram sole. To many of us the idea of running without a shoe sounds impossible. But Robert Fliri from Naturns experienced going barefoot in the mountains long before he attended our university, and when the project “Sport is fun” was offered, he worked on his idea of “FiveFingers”. The project was even chosen one of the best inventions in 2007 by the magazine “Time”. How well the runners at the New York Marathon will do can be seen in November.
