Dean’s Welcome Congratulations!
You come to a great University.
I’m
Maurizio Murgia Dean of the School of Economics and Management, and it’s my pleasure to welcome you to the Free University of Bolzano-Bozen and to the Economics and Management programs.
It is not only the classroom that makes the School of Economics and Management great. It’s the wonderful faculty who are great lecturers, have open door policies, and are committed to developing students who will be future leaders and who can roll up their sleeves in order to solve complex, unstructured, real world problems.
The School’s academic and administrative staff give their time to making sure you engage as much as possible in your own educational process. And students such as yourselves, who are enthusiastically involved in attending courses, are most important both to the profession and to the life of the School.
Economics and Management studies are not only a very important part of this University, but they are also a very important part of society in the 21st century. This is an exciting time in your life. You’re going to face intellectual challenges, but you are also going to have opportunities for personal growth and the development of lifelong friendships.
We are glad you are here, and this welcome comes with my best wishes for your personal and academic achievements in the future.
Maurizio Murgia, Ph.D., Dean and Professor of Finance
Motto of the School of Economics and Management Freshmen
Attending University is about more than books and readings.
It’s a place to figure out what kind of person one wants to be.
