New Exam-CheckIn
MIS, the new Mobile Identification System, extends the students’ Chipcard with an additional feature!   In the near future all students have to perform a CheckIn with their Chipcard when taking an exam. This makes both the validation of the identity and the presence check more efficient. No longer annoying walks between desks and chairs are necessary! The professor will execute this quick check from the PC short time before the exams. It is sufficient to put the Chipcard on the card reader - that’s all: then the exam can be started.   This new method for checking the presence is already in use at the School of Economics and Management and at the Faculty of Science and Technology.   See you at your next exam!

CUD, the monthly payslip and other relevant documents are available online, therefore no time-consuming distribution of the papers is necessary.   No more papers, no searching for old documents! Everything online and easily accessible. For paper fans there is still the possibility to print the documents. Bibliothek des Micurà de Rü
Bibliothek des Micurà de Rü  Die Bibliothek des Ladinischen Kulturinstituts „Micurà de Rü" gehört ab Samstag, 23. Oktober als Partnerbibliothek zum Wissenschaftsnetz Südtirol. Damit kann der interessierte Bibliotheksbenutzer nun über den Meta-Katalog des Wissenschaftsnetzes Südtirol auch die Bestände dieser ladinischen Bibliothek nach passendem Lesematerial durchforsten. Das Projekt „Meta-Katalog" wird von der Bibliothek und der ICT der Freien Universität Bozen unterstützt und vorangetrieben.Der neue Service bietet die Möglichkeit, in einer Reihe von Bibliotheksbeständen von einem beliebigen Standort aus zu recherchieren und die Medien eigenständig vorzumerken oder ausgeliehene Medien zu verlängern. Über die einheitliche Benutzeroberfläche, die auf Deutsch, Italienisch, Ladinisch und Englisch zur Verfügung steht, kann der Nutzer entweder in mehreren Katalogen gleichzeitig (Meta-Katalog) oder in einem einzelnen Katalog recherchieren. Zusätzlich zum erweiterten Rechercheangebot gibt es für alle Benutzer einen neuen Abholstandort bei Vormerkungen: St. Martin in Thurn.Das Projekt „Meta-Katalog" wird von der Bibliothek und der ICT der Freien Universität Bozen unterstützt und vorangetrieben. Realisiert wurde die Einbindung der Bibliothek des ladinischen Kulturinstitutes in die einheitliche Benutzeroberfläche im Rahmen des Wissenschaftsnetzes Südtirol von der Abteilung „Information & Communication Technology" (ICT) der Freien Universität Bozen und EURAC research. Im erweiterten Wissenschaftsnetz können nun über eine einzige Suchmaske die Bestände folgender wissenschaftlicher Bibliotheken recherchiert werden:Bibliothek der Freien Universität Bozen Bibliothek der EURAC research Bibliothek der Philosophisch-Theologischen Hochschule Brixen Bibliothek der Fachhochschule für Gesundheitsberufe „Claudiana" Bibliothek des Museion Pädagogische Fachbibliothek des deutschen Pädagogischen Instituts und deutschen Schulamtes Bibliothek des Ladinischen Kulturinstituts „Micurà de Rü". Roomwall: look into the room!
New Roomwalls for the biggest lecture rooms in Bolzano were installed on time with the start of the semester. Just a short look and you know what's going on. Is the Professor already there? Did the lecture already start or: when will the next one take place? In addition to the Lecturewall located at the entrance, communication will be extended through the newly added Roomwalls. To assist the communication and to provide you a fast overview, was always the aim of Information and Communication Technology. New projects are coming soon! We appreciate your feedback!

Where does my next lecture take place?
Have a quick look at the new Lecture Wall, and find your lecture room easily! The Lecture-Wall is placed in the foyer of the University in Bolzano, near the main entrance. It’s a pilot project, that will be extended to the other seats of the University after a trial period. We count on your feedback in order to improve this service according to your needs. Eduroam (Education Roaming) makes it possible: You can access the internet via wireless LAN with your username and password in several educational and research institutions in different countries! Guest lectures, exchange semester, business trips,….: Access the internet via wireless LAN in a quick and easy way by using your account! You don’t need to get a guest account anymore, simply use your existing network account. Configuration manuals and additional important information can be found on our website.  You can find additional details about eduroam and the participating institutions on the web sites of the Italian Scientific Network GARR and under http://www.eduroam.org/.
