Frequently Asked Questions
I want to attend The Free University of Bozen/Bolzano for one or two semesters, but my home institution isn't on the list of exchange partners. Can I still apply?
If you cannot find your institution on the list of exchange partners, you can still attend the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano as a Free Mover Student (also called visiting students or guest students). Free Mover students are individual students who, upon payment, are temporarily registered at the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano without their enrolment being subject to a reciprocal exchange agreement with a partner institution. My home institution has an exchange agreement with the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano. How do I apply to attend the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano as an exchange student?

Exchange students are selected by their home institutions to attend the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano. You will therefore need to contact your own institution's International Relations Office and find out how to apply.
Do I need to know English, German and Italian to study at the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano?
One of the key features of our university is the trilingual approach. Lessons are held in English, German and Italian in most of our degree courses and between one class and the next you have to switch from one language to another. Therefore we strongly recommend to start learning the local languages and English in particular as soon as possible in order to be able to attend classes successfully
