Manage the environment and innovation Sustainability, Alpine area, Energy efficiency: These are the keywords that guide the development of the Faculty of Science and Technology, which was created in order to respond to the specific demand of the local economy and to provide an expert response to the main issues faced by the Alpine area and environment.

The Faculty offers the Bachelor programmes in Agricultural Science and Agricultural Technology as well as in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering, the Master in Fruit Science, the Master 1st and 2nd level in "Innovation Engineering" and "CasaClima - KlimaHaus" and the PhD Programme in Management of Mountain Environment. These study programmes are characterized by their common interest in energy and environmental sustainability and in the economic and management areas, as well as by their particular teaching model: In all degree courses there are “classic” classes in lecture halls and seminar rooms, as well as more practical exercise classes and lab work.

These courses aim to provide a solid theoretical basis as well as opportunities to put theory into practice. Basically students will gain a strong scientific background and will develop the skills to be able to deal with and solve new problems. There are also around 400 agreements that have been made to allow our students to undertake  work experience programmes, which allow them to put what they have learned into practice in real working environments.

The curiosity and creativity that we ask our students to demonstrate are encouraged by our academic staff who come from many different countries: Our students are immersed in a varied cultural world and thanks to this they acquire a greater flexibility when analysing and approaching problems.

series of lectures: THE SUSTAINABILITY OF QUALITY WORK IN AGRICULTUREIn Europe the number of norms and technical standards is costantly growing, year after year. Too often the new rules appear suitable for productive activities in general, rather than for the agricultural ones in particular.  In Italy the agricultural sector has appeared unprepared, or at least taken unawares, to apply laws or decrees (such as the D.Lgs. 626/94, for example, or the previous 277/91) designed more for the industrial and craft sectors than for the agricultural, forestry and food processing ones.
