The impact of Selena’s research on brain degenerative diseases gained her an invitation to present her findings in the UK Parliament, which she saw as an opportunity to advocate the importance of government support for scientific advance. Selena is an alumna of the Bachelor in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering at unibz. She strongly believes in the benefit of a professional and personal versatility, and thus, after completing a degree in mechanical engineering, she studied and worked on a diverse range of biomimicry and medical projects across 8 countries. Being deeply involved in outreach programmes, she is also a strong advocate for women in STEM. As a result of her achievements and leadership experience, she was awarded the Next Generation Women Leaders prize by McKinsey & Company in 2020.
