The solution to several issues investigated in natural science, technology and the social sciences often comes from frameworks, methods and formulations that are typical of mathematics, physics, chemistry and statistics. In these fields, research is currently experiencing a rapid progress and radical transformations, also due to the fast increase in computing power. To keep pace with these developments, it is necessary to contribute actively to international research in these sectors. In this large research area, we develop new theoretical and methodological approaches for innovative practical applications in various domains, as detailed below.
