Greetings and farewell; ask about someone’s wellbeing; introduce oneself and the others; communicate information about profession, family and language knowledge; ask and give information about prices; ask for word meaning and for repeating; thank; compliment; talk about hobbies and abilities; make appointments; make a proposal and react; communicate food habits; ask for information and end a telephone call; report past events; describe the daily routine; describe journeys and celebrations.
Grammar
Determined, undetermined and negative articles in nominative and accusative; suffix –in;  plural forms of articles and nouns; compounds noun + noun; interrogative pronouns “W…”; possessives mein, dein; temporal prepositions am, um, von…bis, ab, im; negation with nicht; verb position; yes/no questions; ja, nein, doch; cardinal numbers 1-1.000.000; indicative present of regular verbs; modal verbs können and möchte; separable verbs; perfect with haben  and sein.

SYLLABUS
Talk about professions; tell family stories; express advices, desires, preferences and opinions on furniture; express shopping preferences; arrive at an agreement/accept/decline a proposal; make appointments; ask and give advices on sport and alimentation; express compassion, worry, hope, and surprise; compare; at the restaurant: order, ask for something, claim, pay the bill; written congratulations.

adjective declination; prepositions with dative and accusative; temporal adverbs; temporal prepositions; conjunctions weil, deshalb, dass, wenn; recapitulation of Perfekt and Präteritum; verbs with different prepositions; Konjunktiv II (könnte, sollte); reflexive verbs.

SYLLABUS
The student will be able to:
- greet formally and informally;
- introduce her/himself and other people formally and informally;
- fill in a form with personal data;
- interact in the classroom with the teacher and the other participants;
- ask for simple information about timetables, services and prices;
- invite, accept and refuse an invitation;
- talk about one’s simple daily activities.
Grammar and phonology
Definite and indefinite articles, interrogative pronouns and adjectives (chi, come, da/quando, perché, di/da dove, quanto, quale), present of regular verbs (-are, -ere, -ire), some irregular verbs (essere, avere, andare, dovere, fare, venire, volere, uscire), regular nouns and adjectives (singular and plural), nationalities, some connectives and discourse markers (e, o/oppure, ma, allora, bene, senta), simple prepositions (di, in, a, per, da ), time prepositions (alle, dalle…alle), some possessive forms (mio, tuo, suo), c’è/ci sono (there is/there are).

Italian A2.1

Prerequisite: module A1.2 or certification of level A1

SYLLABUS
The student will be able to:
- introduce her/himself and ask for personal information;
- interact in class (scusi, come si dice? cosa significa? ecc);
- interact during a journey/holiday (ask for information about timetables, means of transport, weather);
- tell about a past journey;
- interact in a shop (buy something, ask for information about quantity, price, size);
- describe the objects and clothes that he/she bought;
- make a phone call.
Grammar
Name-adjective agreement, present of regular and irregular verbs, imperative (tu, voi, Lei), direct pronouns (lo, la, li, le), indirect pronouns (gli, le), the particle ne, present perfect, time expressions with present perfect (un mese fa, già, appena, non ancora), the particle ci, some prepositions (in, a, da, per, di), the impersonal form with si, possessives, regular comparative.
The sounds /ʃ/ and /sk/, /v/ and /f/, the sound /λ/.

SYLLABUS
You will be able to: sound natural by linking words; expressing likes/dislikes; making phone calls; giving advice; asking for/giving directions; seeing the doctor; discussing purpose, cause and result; finding out information; buying things; making guesses; complaining; giving opinions; making requests and offers.
Grammar
used to; relative clauses; too much/many, enough, very;  comparatives/superlatives; articles;  uses of like; present/past passive.
