If you would like to join us for an exchange period and your home university is not a partner of unibz you can apply as Free Mover.

Please send to the International Relations Office:

- Motivation letter
- Official transcript of university records
- Enrolment certificate from your home university (under review)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Portfolio (for admission to the Faculty of Design and Art)

  • by 10 May for the first semester or the whole academic year
  • by 10 October for the second semester

1. Registering

Once the Faculty admits you as a Free Mover student, we will send you a link an e-mail inviting you to complete your online registration:

  • by 30 June for the first semester or the whole academic year
  • by 30 November for the second semester or the whole academic year

2. Accommodation

Free Mover students cannot be granted an accommodation in residence halls, we therefore recommend that you start looking in the private market. You can also check our blog for offers. In case an accommodation becomes vacant, you will be contacted.

3. Study Plan / Learning Agreement (LA)

Look up in the Course Catalogue.

As an exchange student you can choose courses from the Faculty you are enrolled it. If you are interested in taking courses from other faculties, please contact us (international.relations@unibz.it) and we will let you know if it is possible. Remember that the Faculty of Education is seated in Brixen-Bressanone and the degree course in Tourism in Bruneck-Brunico.

Once your LA is ready send it to the contact person in your Faculty for the approval.

4. Tuition fee

As a free mover incoming student, you have to cover the same tuition fees as our regular students. The tuition fees for the academic year 2022/23 are € 751,50 for one semester and € 1351,50 for the whole academic year. Refunding is not possible if you decide to cancel your stay after the payment has been made.

Students who have Free Mover status are able to access all the services offered by unibz like regular degree seeking students (library, canteen, printers, etc.) and will receive a transcript of records at the end of their stay.
