Why do citizens sometimes support policies that ultimately harm collective welfare? This question is at the core of The Demand for Bad Policy, a two-day workshop bringing together leading scholars in political economy, behavioral economics, and experimental social science.
Organized within the PRIN 2022 PNRR research project REMEDIES – A Remedy for the Demand of Bad Policies, the event will explore how cognitive biases, strategic uncertainty, and political incentives can lead voters to endorse inefficient policies—and what can be done to counteract these tendencies.
The event aims to stimulate interdisciplinary debate and contribute to designing more effective and socially beneficial policies.
Participation is open to scholars, students, and practitioners interested in political behavior, policy-making, and democratic governance.
