Short bio
Luigi holds a Ph.D. in Sustainablility Science, with a specialization in Sustainable land and Water Management in Agricultural from the Stockholm Resilience Centre at Stockholm University, Sweden (2020) and a MSc in Environmental Engineering (2014) from the University of Genoa, Italy. He has 35 SCOPUS-indexed research papers and an h-index of 17 (19.09.2026). Apart from his academic career, Luigi has worked as a consultant for different NGOs, performed fieldwork in Uganda and Angola, and represented the UN agency UNOSAT at the International conference on Climate Change Adaptation in Tanzania in 2015.

Luigi's research focus is on sustainable water resources management, socio-hydrology, drought analysis, and participatory approaches to water sciences. He uses mixed qualitative-quantitative methods to study complex problems related to sustainable water management and water risks, combining participatory work, statistical methods and hydrological modelling.
