Sónia Matos is an associate professor of transformation-engaged design research at the Faculty of Design and Art. She explores design-led approaches and methods to create opportunities for communities to engage with visions and processes of eco-social transformation.  She is currently leading the trans-form research cluster and serving as a Faculty Delegate for non-EU Student Integration (appointed by the dean).

Past affiliations include the Art, Culture and Technology program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), School of Architecture and Planning. Prior to joining unibz Sónia Matos was a Lecturer at the School of Deign, Edinburgh College of Art at the University of Edinburgh.
