Short bio

Sónia Cabral Matos is an associate professor of transformation-engaged design research at the Faculty of Design and Art. She explores design-led approaches and methods to create opportunities for communities to engage with visions and processes of eco-social transformation.  She is also currently leading the trans-form research cluster and Faculty Delegate for non-EU Student Integration (appointed by the dean).

Research Focus

She is the Principal Investigator of 'Playground: Designing Visions of Play in a More-than-Human-World' funded by UNIBZ's start-up grant.

Info

Currently, she is a research affiliate at the Interactive Technologies Institute (ITI), Portugal. Her past affiliations include the Art, Culture and Technology program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), School of Architecture and Planning. Prior to joining unibz Sónia Cabral Matos was a Lecturer at the School of Deign, Edinburgh College of Art at the University of Edinburgh.
