Course Topics
This course focuses on drawing as an essential technique for conceptualizing, communicating, and expressing artistic ideas. It builds on a previous one-year course in which students were introduced to the basics of drawing: idea, proportion, composition, and perspective. This course provides students with techniques to further develop their drawing skills and to achieve a deeper understanding of the act of drawing. It aims to sharpen observational skills and strengthen individual artistic vocabularies. One of the key features of this module is its focus on narrative connections. Through the use of a variety of drawing techniques, students are encouraged to visualize individual observations within a broader context. The course is open to students of all academic years. Didactic materials take the trilingual context of the faculty into account.

Teaching format
The teaching format will consist of open, one-to-one discussions of individual projects. Each class will begin with demonstrations and slide lectures, followed by group and individual critiques at the end of the session. Required in-class assignments will be started during class and may be completed outside of class. Additional assignments, research, and homework must be submitted for grading. Students are expected to keep a sketchbook for drafting, daily drawings, and speed sketching. It must be submitted periodically during the course for evaluation.

Educational objectives
Knowledge and understanding - have acquired the basic knowledge necessary to realise a project in the field of Drawing and Storytelling; - have acquired the basic knowledge necessary for further Master's studies in all components of project culture as well as in technical subjects, with a particular attention to the field of Drawing and Storytelling. Applying knowledge and understanding - use the basic knowledge acquired in the technical fields to realise a mature project; - make use of the skills acquired during the course of study in the event of continuing studies in a Master's degree programme and to develop them further. Transversal competence and soft skills Making judgements - Be able to make independent judgements for the purpose of developing their own design skills and in relation to all those decisions that are necessary to bring a project of Drawing and Storytelling to completion. Communication skills - present an independently realised project in the field of Drawing and Storytelling in the form of an installation, orally as well as in writing in a professional manner. Learning skills - have learned a work methodology at a professional level - in the sense of being able to identify, develop and realise solutions to complex problems by applying the acquired knowledge in the different fields, with a particular attention to the field of Drawing and Storytelling - in order to start a professional activity and/or continue their studies with a master's degree programme; - have developed a creative attitude and learned how to enhance it and develop it according to their own inclinations; - have acquired basic knowledge in the field of Drawing and Storytelling as well as a study methodology suitable for continuing studies with a Master's degree programme.

Assessment
The exam consists of an oral presentation and discussion of the complete semester project. All works, drawings, sketches, documentation, and research materials will be discussed and equally evaluated. Attendance in the course is required in order to be admitted to the exam. N.B. All students taking the exam as “OPT” or as non-attending students must agree on the contents with the instructor in advance.

Evaluation criteria
Evaluation criteria include the individual approach and the development of a distinctive visual language. Clarity in the articulation of an independent artistic idea. Clarity of the storyboards. Use of drawing as an essential medium. Conceptual and artistic precision. Focused working practice. Mastery of various analogue and digital drawing techniques. Openness to further development during the production process. Presentation of project-related research.
