Alessandro Luigini
Short bio
He is an Architect and Associate Professor in Drawing (since 2020), holding a PhD in Architectural and Environmental Representation and Survey from the University “G. d’Annunzio.” He qualified for Full Professorship in 2021 and was deemed eligible for a Full Professor position at the Politecnico di Milano in 2023.
His research focuses on graphic and visual sciences, art and heritage education, and the digitization of tangible and intangible heritage, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches. His recent work explores immersive digital environments and applied games for heritage education. In 2018, he founded EARTH_LAB (Laboratory for Digital Environment for Education, ART and Heritage) at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano.
He has authored around 130 scientific publications, including 11 books, and serves on the scientific committees of journals, book series, and international conferences. He is a member of the Management Committee of ICCD (Italian Ministry of Culture), a board member of UID, and President of IMG NETWORK. He has been actively involved in the organization of several international conferences since 2017 (IMG, EARTH, ARTEDU, D&D).
He has been Principal Investigator of several competitive research projects, including:

- Digital_FEED (2021–2024),
- TTC – THROUGH THE CITIES (PRIN 2023–2025).
