Short bio
Franka Luise Mayr conducts research on cultural and music education, with a particular focus on music engagement. She studied cultural studies, educational sciences and musicology in Lüneburg, Madrid and Bolzano and completed her PhD with a doctoral scholarship from the Cusanuswerk. Her research focuses on music as a social and cultural practice and on approaches to music engagement at the intersection of schools, cultural institutions and other partners outside the school sector. Alongside her academic work, she designs and facilitates concerts and participatory programmes for children and families.
