The course examines the fundamental structures of standard German at various levels of description and in relation to the linguistic situation in South Tyrol.

Educational objectives
Subject-specific skills Knowledge and understanding Students are familiar with the basic structures of the German language. Applying knowledge and understanding Students can identify and analyse the basic structures of the German language. Transversal skills Evaluation Students can therefore assess and evaluate language used by others. Communication Students are therefore able to reflect on and evaluate their own linguistic expressions. Learning strategies Students are therefore able to reflect on learning strategies and develop teaching strategies.

Assessment
Written exam with review questions and practice questions

Evaluation criteria
• the accuracy of the analyses of linguistic phenomena • the linguistic accuracy of the analyses of linguistic phenomena, using academic terminology
