Course Topics
Object of the lecture course is the legal regulation for IT and telematic tools in the social and economic relationships. Fundamental rights of persons protection in the online relationships, data protection and data processing will be studied. As well as legal rules on big data, also in the perspective of AI utilization. Online contracts and the choice of the law applicable to transnational contracts is object of the course. With the legal regulation of the online platforms, and the responsibility of the internet services providers for online contents. The European Union regulation of the AI will be studied in the course.

Teaching format
Frontal lectures During the course, several hours will be devoted to testing the learning of concepts by having students practise the topics illustrated during the lectures.

Educational objectives
The course falls under the category of "ulteriori attività formative". It aims to provide an introduction to the legal regulation of Information Technology at international, European and Italian level. Applying Knowledge and Understanding • D2.15 – Ability to identify the legal framework and constraints in the context of digital commerce and, when necessary, to seek professional legal advice. Communication Skills • D4.3 – Ability to negotiate with individuals from different professional backgrounds regarding the definition and requirements of business information systems.

Assessment
The final examination is not assessed by a grade, but is of the pass/fail type. The final examination takes place in written form and consists of 3 open questions.

Evaluation criteria
The course result will be based on the final written examination. In order to assess the answers, the following will be relevant: the clarity of the answer in terms of logic; the property of language (both from a technical legal point of view and from a grammatical and logical point of view); the ability to synthesise, the ability to make judgements and the ability to make connections between the topics studied.
