Gianluca Camillini is an Italian designer, educator and researcher.
After his MA and BA degree at ISIA Urbino (grade cum laude), he worked several years for international design agencies and clients (Armando Testa, Heads Collective, Michele Turriani, FCA Group, La Biennale Venezia). Since 2013 he works as researcher and adjunct professor in graphic design at the design faculty – unibz, focusing his attention on typographic and editorial practices from the avant-gardes to the contemporary days. Concurrently, he obtained a PhD in typography and visual communication at the University of Reading in the UK.
Since 2018 he is co-editor of Progetto grafico, international graphic design magazine.
He combines teaching with his practice, encompassing both cultural criticism and design research.
