Günter Schamel is an agricultural / applied economist with research interests related to wine, tourism and cooperatives. He received his PhD from the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University and an MSc from UC Davis. Prior to joining unibz, he was professor at Humboldt University Berlin, had visiting appointments at Iowa State and Adelaide University, taught at Cornell, TUM, BSB Dijon and worked for the World Bank. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Wine Economist (AAWE) and affiliated with the Wine Economics Research Centre at Adelaide University, the Robert Mondavi Institute Center for Wine Economics at UC Davis and Bordeaux Wine Economics. He is a Board Member for AAWE, the Journal of Wine Economics (JWE) and Wine Economics and Policy (WEP).
