The course aims to introduce the leading Ladin writers of the 20th century within the context of regional and national culture and society, as well as major international literary movements.

Course Topics
- Italian, German and Ladin literature: a comparison of ‘national’ and minority literatures. - 20th-century Ladin authors as examples of the reception of major international literary movements. - Modern Ladin literature.

Educational objectives
To promote awareness of the works of Ladin writers and poets as an expression of the community’s identity. To develop the ability to engage with both ancient and modern Ladin texts as works of historical and literary value and as an educational resource. Knowledge and understanding To familiarise learners with Ladin literary production as a reflection of major European literary movements. Applying knowledge and understanding To encourage the use of ancient and recent literary texts and documents in an educational context. Evaluative skills The ability to reflect on, discuss and explore the topics covered, placing them correctly within their historical context. Communication skills Ability to process the content learnt in both oral and written form. Learning skills Ability to explore and process the topics learnt independently and personally.

Assessment
In-class written exam (open-ended questions)

Evaluation criteria
Final overall mark: the following aspects are taken into account and assessed: the quality and quantity of information, relevance, the structure of cognitive processes, clarity of argumentation, formal correctness, and language proficiency.
