Walburga Ursula Kerschbaumer is an Associate Professor at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (unibz), Faculty of Engineering, where she is engaged in teaching, research, and academic development in the field of advanced manufacturing technologies and systems. Her academic and professional path combines engineering expertise with strong project management experience in both academia and industry, spanning Germany, Spain, and Italy.
She earned her PhD in Applied Fluid Mechanics from Clausthal University of Technology (Germany) in 2010, after completing a master’s degree in Energy Systems Engineering at the same institution. Over the years, she has held positions as a simulation and product development engineer at Audi AG, project manager in the automotive electronics sector, and associate professor at the University of Vic (UVic-UCC) in Catalonia.
