Günter Schamel is an agricultural/applied economist researching on wine, tourism and cooperatives. He has a PhD from the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University and an MSc from UC Davis. Before, he was professor at Humboldt University Berlin with visiting appointments at Iowa State and Adelaide Uni. He has worked at the World Bank and taught at Cornell, TU Munich, BSB Dijon. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Wine Economist (AAWE), a Board Member for the Journal of Wine Economics (JWE), affiliated with the Robert Mondavi Institute Center for Wine Economics UC Davis and the Adelaide Wine Economics Research Centre, Vice President of the European Association of Wine Economists (EuAWE) and founding member of the Alliance for Research on Wine and Hospitality Management (ARWHM).
