The PhD Conference Beyond Boundaries invites PhD candidates and early-career (non-tenured) researchers in education, pedagogy, social sciences, and related fields to actively participate.
In a time of increasing complexity, intersectionality, and worldwide interconnectedness, boundaries are no longer fixed or obvious. The conference seeks to establish an open, interdisciplinary environment where young scholars can examine how disciplinary, social, and conceptual boundaries influence knowledge, identities, and social practices—and how these boundaries can be critically examined and transformed.
By focusing on the tensions between specialization and interdisciplinarity, the role of visible and invisible social boundaries, and the limits of knowledge, language, and meaning, Beyond Boundaries encourages critical reflection on inclusion, innovation, and participation in educational and social research.
We accept contributions in English, Italian, and German. However, the presentations must be held in English.
