Short bio

EUJAL (European Journal of Applied Linguistics), KoKu (BA Communcation Sciences and Culture) and LRI (Language Region Identity): three acronyms, three professional foci.
Born in Munich, dominated by the German language, now multilingual. The question "How to do things with words?" (Austin) is a central tenet in my research and has been widely explored. Experience gained in Russia, Ukraine, Central Asian States and the Balkans as a journalist, project manager and researcher.
Magister Artium (1994), Dr. phil. (2013) at the LMU Munich, Italian Abilitazione in 2017. Before joining unibz in 2008 I worked at the European Academy Bolzano, for the German Organisation for International Cooperation (giz), at the Osteuropa-Institute Munich and in the German Bundestag.
