Oleogel with antioxidant capacity

The invention relates to the development of “oleogels” from waxes of plant origin and a lipid fraction, by means of a new process which gives the oleogels greater stability to oxidation reactions of the lipid fraction. It thus provides a procedure for the preparation of oleogels from waxes of plant origin and the use of the oleogels thus produced as stabilizers of products containing unsaturated fatty acids.

Oleogels produced by the process of the invention exhibit antioxidant capacities comparable to those of antioxidant agents normally used to retard the onset of lipid oxidation reactions in: 

  • Cosmetic preparations 
  • Pharmaceutical preparations 
  • Food preparations 
  • Feed preparations

Nested tri-stage cycloidal gearbox: a new concept to increase power density

Addressing the problem of increasing the gear ratio without increasing the system footprint is a recurring challenge for mechanical designers. The evolution toward solutions that favour high power density has led to the development of innovative mechanisms that take advantage of cycloidal and hypocycloidal gears. The solution introduced with this invention involves the use of three cycloidal and hypocycloidal reduction stages, allowing the limitations of conventional architectures to be overcome. In fact, with the present invention, it is possible to integrate three reduction stages in the same footprint where, to date, usually a maximum of two are arranged. Such a system has been named “Nested” because of its peculiar arrangement of internal and external gears nested within each other. Due to its compact architecture, this invention opens new application possibilities in critical areas such as industrial robotics, medical, surgical and biomedical fields, as well as in numerical control machines and heavy or overload-prone load handling systems.
