EUROPEAN PARTNERSHIP ACCELERATING FARMING SYSTEMS TRANSITION: AGROECOLOGY LIVING LABS AND RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURES

Akronym

AGROECOLOGY

Abstract

European agriculture has secured food production through decades of innovation, but intensive farming has also increased greenhouse gas emissions, degraded natural resources and exposed farmers to climate, economic and geopolitical shocks. This project supports the agroecological transition by combining ecological processes, advanced science and technology, farmers’ knowledge and proven practices. Its goal is to foster resilient, productive and profitable farming systems that protect climate, biodiversity and rural communities. The project will promote innovative practices and services, strengthen skills, networks and social capital, and generate evidence for flexible, participatory and risk-sharing policies capable of enabling transformative change across European agriculture.
