Short bio
Unais Sait is currently a Research Fellow at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, funded by EDUNEXT – Next Education Italia, where he is exploring how next-generation EdTech technologies can be designed to support inclusive and high-quality remote higher education. His fellowship work is guided by Prof. Antonella De Angeli, who works in the area of experimental psychology and human-computer interaction.
He is also pursuing a PhD in Advanced Systems Engineering at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, focusing on human performance management and the role of heuristics—experience-based decision strategies—in shaping everyday decision-making. His research aims to inform the design of systems that enhance rational behaviour in complex environments.
Previously, he served as Associate Faculty at the National Institute of Design, Bangalore, and as Assistant Professor at PES University, where he taught Interaction Design, AR/VR, HCI, and Mechatronics. His broader work spans assistive technologies, AI-enabled healthcare, and immersive interfaces, with publications in Applied Soft Computing, IEEE GHTC, and other peer-reviewed venues.
Unais is also an active peer reviewer for high-impact journals and conferences, including Nature Communications, ACM COMPASS, and the International Conference on Machine Learning and Data Engineering.
