Tourism Management

This master programme combines advanced management skills with aspects of new digital technologies and sustainability. Tomorrow's tourism managers learn how to achieve a balance between economical, ecological and social concerns.

Intro

The aim of this master programme is to bring innovations to the tourism industry that provide answers to the challenges posed by the economic, social and environmental upswing at present and in the next decade.

Based on theoretical concepts and through the acquisition of practical skills, you will learn to manage tourism experiences, to use new technologies in a target-oriented way for the management of tourism businesses and destinations, to analyse and use Big Data for the optimisation of tourist flows and the adaptation of services.

As an internationally trained specialist for Smart Tourism and Smart Destinations, you will help shape the future of tourism.

Structure

In the first year, the focus is on courses that lay the theoretical foundations, including business management and marketing, regional economics and sustainable mobility. In the second year, more practice-oriented courses are offered, such as a laboratory in which you will develop strategies for transforming destinations into smart destinations.

Exchange programmes and internships

Currently we offer exchange programmes with partner universities all over the world and we are part of a large network of collaboration with employers in Italy and abroad where you can undertake your compulsory internship of a minimum of 150 hours.

Career opportunities

Graduates will be able to manage tourism companies such as tour operators, hotel chains or trade fairs. They can also apply as professionals for the management and marketing of tourist destinations, especially in public institutions, associations or even tourism consortia.

They also have the necessary skills to pursue a career as consultants for tourism companies and destinations.

Finally, they can continue their studies with an 2nd level master or a doctoral programme.
