The goal of this workshop is to take a first step toward the theme of the International Conference of the same title that will be held in presence in Spring-Summer 2022. The workshop brings together scholars of different disciplines (scientists, philosophers, narratologists, and educators) to address issues related to integrating sciences and humanities. In view of developing a model of science education suitable for children and their teachers, this introductory workshop will address the integration of different fields of science—in particular, physics and biology.
Teachers, especially at the kindergarten and primary school levels, give pupils their first introduction to the natural and technological world we are all part of. For young children, complex real-life systems are the order of the day and disciplinary boundaries do not matter. This is why this workshop explores the relation between physical science and life sciences.
