This is the first talk fo the AI Dialogue Series in the framework of the Studium Generale ; it features Matias del Campo presenting The Séance of Inference. The lecture positions design as a negotiation with systems that predict, infer, and recombine, reframing AI-assisted architecture as a ritual encounter with latent histories embedded within generative models. It questions what remains of architectural agency when form emerges through probabilistic processes already saturated with precedent.
The session will be moderated by Prof. Ferrando Davide.
The participation to this session has been opened to the partners of the SUNRISE Alliance.
AI Dialogue Series aims at expanding and critically engaging contemporary thought on artificial intelligence. Everyone is welcome to attend and contribute to open, rigorous discussions on the role of AI both as a tool and as an epistemic condition.
These talks are part of the AI Cultures CoLab initiatives of the faculty of Design and Art and organised by Mustapha El Moussaoui, Architect, Urbanist and assistant professor at unibz.
The first series is focused on AI in Architecture and Music: three talks between May and June will explore how AI can interact with design, architecture and music.
