The Laboratory of Hydraulic Engineering and Fluid Dynamics (LTFD) is an applied research laboratory that utilises modern experimental techniques and advanced numerical simulation codes in the field of fluid dynamics.
In this laboratory, we use experimental and numerical techniques to analyse various aspects of fluid dynamics and hydraulic engineering: from issues relating to water resource utilisation and flood defence/hydrogeological instability, to industrial fluid dynamics and two-phase flow applications.
LTFD’s expertise includes the design, optimisation, calibration, experimental analysis and modelling of hydraulic systems using physical models and commercial, open-source or in-house developed software.
