Dominik Matt

Short bio

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dominik Matt holds the Chair for Production Systems and Technologies and heads the research department "Industrial Engineering & Automation (IEA)" at the Faculty of Engineering of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. Moreover, Prof. Matt is the Director of the Fraunhofer Italia Research Center in Bolzano. He has authored more than 300 scientific and technical papers and is listed among the most cited professors as well as among the 2% top scientists for long career-impact in their specific fields (elsevier.digitalcommonsdata.com, 10/2023). Prof. Matt is member of numerous national and international scientific organizations and committees. Since 2020 Prof. Matt is also member of the renowned German National Academy of Science and Engineering (www.acatech.de).

Prof. Matt's research focuses on the areas of Industry 4.0/5.0 and Smart and Green Factory, the application of Artificial Intelligence in industrial production, Lean Production, as well as the planning and optimization of assembly systems and internal logistics.
