Since 2017 Bruno Carpentieri is Associate Professor of Computer Science at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. He teaches Linear Algebra and Computational Mathematics at the Faculty of Computer Science.

"Recent developments in high-performance computing are radically changing the way we do numerics as applied mathematicians. It has become harder and harder to produce faster processors. If we want our application to benefit from the continued performance growth, it will need to exploit a high degree of concurrency. And that is putting us at a fundamental turning point in software development", says prof. Carpentieri.

In his lecture, Carpentieri will present his research towards the design of novel classes of parallel numerical linear algebra methods alongside their application to solving scientific and industrial problems.
