The writing retreat of the German didactics and primary education Research Colloquium unibz+TUD is an event format that serves academic writing and empirical research, the interactive promotion of young researchers and international networking. It is composed of various elements that interlock and complement each other:

·       Plenary lectures on qualitative-empirical research methods, especially in the field of linguistic-literary learning in multilingual contexts,

·       Research workshops by researchers with different levels of experience (PhD students, post-doctoral researchers, professors) from the fields of German didactics and primary education, in which current projects are presented and discussed in the context of joint data sessions,

·       Writing times for individual work on one's own writing projects.

The (historical) location of the monastery is significant here as a place of silence, seclusion and concentration that enables intensive individual work and collaboration. After the kick-off in autumn 2019 in the Klosterstift St. Marienthal on the German-Polish border near the TU Dresden, the writing workshop will now take place near the unibz in the Abbazia di Novacella near Brixen-Bressanone.
