Yves Pouabe

Short bio

Yves Pouabe obtained his undergraduate degree in planning and management of Cultural Tourism at the University of Padova in 2020. He acquired knowledge about how to protect cultural artefacts and how to build a value proposition to promote to tourist consumers. Afterwards, he obtained a Master´s degree in Tourism Economics and Management at the University of Bologna in 2023. Through his Master´s final dissertation, he started developing some interests in topics related to the influence of intelligent automation on consumer behaviour, particularly in the tourism context.

During these years, he also had the honour to have an Erasmus exchange program at the University of Seville in Spain, Bournemouth University in the UK, and the University of Montreal in Canada during my bachelor's and master's cycles.

Yves Pouabe is currently a joint doctoral candidate in Management at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano and the University of Trento.

Research Focuses

His main research interest is on the impact of intelligent automation on consumer behaviour, with a particular focus on the tourism and hospitality sectors. Therefore, he is currently finalising a critical review of the literature on consumers’ willingness to pay for robot-delivered services in these industries. Another ongoing paper investigates the influence of service robots in the restaurant sector, particularly in situations involving service failure. He is also exploring the factors that shape tourists’ intentions to use self-driven vehicles versus human-driven vehicles in tourism destinations under conditions of uncertainty.
