Course Topics
The course will improve your ability to engage in dialogue in everyday situations. Your vocabulary will be expanded and you will learn grammatical structures in the context of language use. The language elements of ÖGS and the structural differences between different sentence structures are are repeated and consolidated. An introduction to the division of the sign language space and the initial creation of sign language scenarios will familiarise you with the special features of ÖGS.

Educational objectives
The course is aimed at anyone who already has previous knowledge of sign language as taught in the German Sign Language (Advanced) course (A1). The course is aimed at students and teachers who want to learn and use Austrian Sign Language at level A2.1 in their school or primary education practice and who should have the appropriate language skills for this. - Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions that are important in everyday situations when shopping and at home and sign information about people and family members in ÖGS. - Can communicate in simple, routine situations involving a simple and direct exchange of information about familiar and common things, e.g. talking about hobbies/leisure activities, daily routine, time, weather and free time. - Can express feelings, wishes, needs of self, family and friends and talk about leisure time, daily routine, weather and food. Knowledge and understanding The students know the basic structures of sign language in an extended form (syntax, classifiers and localisation) The students' ability to engage in dialogue in everyday situations is expanded. Applying knowledge and understanding Students apply their knowledge with increasing confidence in free communication and in practical production and perception exercises. They work on their hand form with the help of exercises. Grammar and vocabulary can be consolidated in dialogues with conversation partners. can be consolidated. The focus is on describing everyday situations, daily routines and the weather. Making judgements You will be able to recognise and correct your own mistakes and give constructive feedback to the other person in partner work. Communication Students can apply their knowledge in simple dialogues, introduce themselves and ask others about themselves. Learning strategies A mix of different methods is important for sustainable learning. Practical exercises and games in the group (e.g. memory, silent post and dialogue exercises) contribute significantly to learning success. Various sign language videos also enhance language skills.

Assessment
The oral and written examination will be held in Austrian sign language, as will the entire course. Part 2 (reception) is written in German. written language. The examination consists of 3 components: 1. production: students produce a sign language text (narrative, report) based on an assignment. 2. reception: Students are given the task of watching a video in which sign language is used and answering questions about it in writing in German in order to check their understanding in ÖGS. 3. interaction: conversation with the lecturer, free communication and interaction in sign language is tested. In addition, two assignments will be included in the overall assessment. Details will be explained at the beginning of the semester and published on the relevant learning platform. The extension of sign language grammar (sentence structure and facial expressions), localisation and classifier will be assessed. Dialogues are checked for fluency and correct grammar

Evaluation criteria
Correctness of the answers and completeness of the completed work assignments/housework.
