The course aims to provide a pragmatic introduction to the fundamental issues concerning developmental and educational psychology in adolescence, with particular attention to the educational implications for inclusive pedagogy.

Course Topics
The topics of cognitive and emotional development that characterise adolescence will be addressed, with a focus on the development of relationships and social behaviour, identity and personality.

Educational objectives
The course is part of the core curriculum of class A018. The course aims to introduce students to the most widespread, innovative, and effective teaching techniques for learning about developmental psychology and education, and to encourage them to analyse and discuss these techniques from a conceptual and theoretical perspective. Disciplinary skills Knowledge and understanding At the end of the course, students will have knowledge of the theoretical and conceptual foundations of developmental psychology, educational psychology and learning psychology, with a particular focus on adolescence. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding At the end of the course, students will be able to relate the disciplinary foundations of developmental psychology and educational and learning psychology to concrete situations and cases and develop corresponding teaching strategies. Transversal skills Independent judgement At the end of the course, students will have acquired critical and interpretative skills that will enable them to make the most appropriate choices for the transmission and re-elaboration of psychological knowledge of development and education. Communication skills At the end of the course, students will have acquired specific communication skills that will enable them to optimise the transmission of psychological knowledge of development and education. Learning skills At the end of the course, students will have acquired specific knowledge and reflection skills that will enable them to independently explore topics in developmental and educational psychology.
