Reservation to access the library

A reservation to access the library is not necessary anymore. Internal users (unibz students, academic and administrative personnel) can enter the library with their unibz card during the standard opening hours. External Library users will need to show their library card at the main entrance, and subsequently they will be let in.

Health and Safety regulations

All Library users must wear a FFP2 mask at all times during the library visit, even when seated. There are no exceptions. We urge all Library users to keep the well-known safety distances and follow the basic hygienic guidelines. Users not adhering to these rules, must leave the premises immediately.

Study Places

There are 80 study seats in Bozen-Bolzano, 40 study seats in Brixen-Bressanone and 20 study seats in Bruneck-Brunico. Study seats are now available to all Library users and work on a first-come, first-served basis. Users will get a numbered seat; it is not allowed to use another number than the one assigned; it is not allowed to change seats or work in groups on one table. Once all seats are occupied, other waiting users must leave the library. During the lunch break and after closing hours, used seats will get disinfected.

Library Shelves

Library Shelves are now accessible again. If you want to sterilize your library books or other materials (smartphone, laptop, keys) you can use our book sterilizer machine (UV-rays that kill the Covid-19 virus, but otherwise don’t damage the materials).

  • Loaning of books and other media
  • Photocopying, scanning and printing (printing only for internal users, bring your own laptop)
  • Accessing e-books, databases and articles on campus (bring your own laptop, smartphone or other device)

Online Services

All our online services are available from home: the catalogue, reserve collections, databases, ebooks, ejournals

In order to access subscribed resources remember to activate the VPN or to use the links provided in the catalogue or on the library homepage.

We provide access to a huge collection in many disciplines. If you don’t have access to a required reading as it is available only in print format, we may try to find an alternative title available online.

Home Delivery

If you're not able to come to our campus libraries to pick up your requested books and willing to cover the costs, we will send them to your home address.

To do this you need to choose "Personal delivery – home address" as your pickup location when requesting the book in our library catalogue.

Afterwards we will contact you via email in order to organize your delivery.
