Massimiliano Bonacchi is Professor of Accounting at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (Italy), Faculty of Economics and Management, where he served as the inaugural Director of the Competence Centre for Sustainability. He has been a Visiting Professor at the New York University Stern School of Business, INSEAD (Fontainebleau), and at Baruch College (CUNY). He earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Florence.
His studies have been published in leading journals, including Review of Accounting Studies, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Business, Finance and Accounting, Accounting Horizons, European Accounting Review, and Corporate Governance: An International Review.
Professor Bonacchi teaches financial reporting, corporate disclosure, and performance measurement across MBA, undergraduate, graduate, doctoral programs, and actively supervises Ph.D. and master’s research. Engaged with both academia and practice, he collaborates with international scholars and institutions and contributes to policy and practitioner debates on ESG, corporate governance, and the evolving role of accounting in society.
