Short bio

Sascha Kraus is Full Professor of Management at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. He holds a doctorate in Social and Economic Sciences from Klagenfurt University (AT), a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Management from Helsinki University of Technology and a Habilitation (Venia Docendi) from Lappeenranta University of Technology (FIN). Before, he held Full Professor positions at Utrecht University (NL), the University of Liechtenstein, École Supérieure du Commerce Extérieur Paris (FR), and at Durham University (UK). He also held Visiting Professor positions at Copenhagen Business School (DK) and at the University of St. Gallen (CH), and was EECPCL Participating Professor at Harvard University.

His main research areas are Strategy, Internationalization, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He is the author of more than 100 academic articles, being published in journals such as: Academy of Management Perspectives, Global Strategy Journal, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of World Business, Leadership Quarterly or Long Range Planning.


The leading German business magazine "Wirtschaftswoche" elected Professor Kraus to 2nd place in the category "Current Research Performance" for the 2nd time in a row in 2022, and for the first time in the top 10 in terms of "Lifetime Achievement".

In 2022, Clarivate has ranked him among the world’s 100 most impactful researchers in Economics and Business by the Web of Science Highly Cited Researchers Reports.
