The course addresses the topics of specific learning disorders and inclusive teaching, aimed at integrating compensatory tools and skills both for the linguistic and mathematical field.

Course Topics
The course develops the following skills from the graduate competency profile: - Understanding and supporting students in the use of augmentative and compensatory strategies and tools in the case of specific learning disorders (SLD); - Creating 'barrier-free' texts and other educational materials, for example according to the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach.

Teaching format
The course alternates between face-to-face lectures, exercises differentiated by school grade and the production of learning materials and learning units designed individually or in small groups.

Educational objectives
Knowledge and Understanding - Understand the characteristics of the main specific learning disorders - Know compensatory tools and strategies - Understand the features of “barrier-free” educational materials Applying Knowledge and Understanding - Be able to design educational activities to support the use of compensatory tools and the development of compensatory strategies - Be able to identify barriers in educational materials and improve their accessibility Making Judgements, Communication Skills and Learning Skills - Be able to critically reflect on the potentially marginalizing and excluding effects of compensatory tools

Assessment
Delivery of a portfolio of products produced during the course.

Evaluation criteria
Numerousness and relevance of references to content covered in lessons, critical thinking, ability to apply to one's own school order
