Tenured associate professors | CHAT, Change Laboratory
Short bio
In 2014, I obtained a jointly awarded PhD from the University of Melbourne and Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. My doctoral research focused on Change Laboratory–type workshops for vocational education and training (VET) students at the boundary between school and work.
Between 2014 and 2015, I worked as a junior researcher at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
From 2015 to 2017, I was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research Fellow at the University of Helsinki. The project aimed to develop and test a Change Laboratory intervention for teachers’ entrepreneurship education.
Between 2017 and 2018, I was a Fulbright Research Scholar at Ohio University (USA), where I investigated innovative practices in entrepreneurship education.
From 2018 to 2021, I served as a junior fixed-term researcher (RTD-A) at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. From 2021 to 2024, I was a senior fixed-term researcher (RTD-B) at the same institution. Since 2024, I have been Associate Professor at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano.
During my career, I received the SIPED Award in 2021 for my Springer monograph (2019) and the SIRD “Aldo Visalberghi” Award in 2022 for my publication in the journal Teaching and Teacher Education.

Cultural-Historical Activity Theory (CHAT)
My research is primarily grounded in Cultural-Historical Activity Theory (CHAT).
Within third-generation CHAT, I study and implement the Change Laboratory as an intervention methodology in schools and organizational settings, aimed at fostering social change, educational innovation, and the development of collective transformative agency.
Within fourth-generation CHAT, my work explores multiple and interconnected Change Laboratories as infrastructures for collaborative transformation, with the aim of advancing utopian horizons of equity and inclusion in education.
