A healthy, 'good sounding' voice, clear articulation and pleasure in verbal and non-verbal communication are fundamental tools for the profession in the field of communication and culture. Knowledge of the physiological fundamentals of the phonatory apparatus, the rules for good pronunciation, and the vocal means of processing and preparing texts will help provide the tools to express oneself clearly and comprehensibly in linguistic communication and to be able to use one's own voice successfully.

Course Topics
Voice training: listening-vocal comprehension. Physiological fundamentals of spoken language. Posture (internal-external) and breathing. Relaxation exercises, breathing and resonance exercises. Voice, support, resonance, voice volume. Breathing as a basis for speaking. Exercises to loosen and widen the laryngeal cord, to use the different voice tones, for sound attack, to relax, to articulate vowels and consonants.

Frontal lecture with practical exercises

Educational objectives
Students must be able to effectively analyse and present different types of texts. Knowledge and understanding Students should acquire a knowledge and understanding of the scientific fundamentals of the learning area covered. They should be able to demonstrate a professional competence in the area of text presentation that goes beyond the generally available knowledge and understanding. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding Knowledge and understanding of the scientific fundamentals of the learning area should enable students to deepen their knowledge. Furthermore, they should be able to make their knowledge, skills and understanding applicable in professional life and practice within the framework of the most important theories, principles and methods. Autonomy of judgement The aim of the course is to enable students to critically evaluate and interpret relevant information that relates to the course content, without limiting themselves to this, in order to make valid judgements and to independently design further learning processes. Communication skills Students should be able to communicate externally the content they have acquired and the conclusions they have reached from it clearly and distinctly, to exchange ideas with others about it at a high level, to work in a team and to take responsibility for projects. Learning skills During the course, independent learning is to be promoted by tackling subject-specific texts and exercises with the aim of expanding and deepening the knowledge acquired in autonomous self-reflection and/or group work.

Assessment
Oral examination: presentation of texts prepared by the candidate(s).

Evaluation criteria
During the presentation, posture and breathing, pronunciation, good use of the means of oral expression and the development of the presented texts will be assessed, as well as the comprehensibility and communication skills.
