Course Topics
Examination of global socioeconomic inequalities, including labor, culture, education, health, and gender disparities. Study of inequality production mechanisms, ideologies, and social citizenship. Critical reflection on poverty and social exclusion

Assessment
Written exam Non-attending students are additionally required to submit a written project or paper (min 15 pages) on a topic to be agreed upon with the lecturer and submitted 20 days before the exam date.

Evaluation criteria
The final grade will be based on: relevant to the written exam (with questions): ability to interact with the concepts and theories and apply them to everyday situations; logical structure, ability to argue, accuracy, etc. For the oral exam: speaking skills, argumentation skills, critical analysis skills, ability to summarize in one's own words, reflection.

Required readings

The course books will be indicated on the first day of class and it will be reported in the power point of the first lecture.



Supplementary readings

Each lecture will include suggested supplementary readings appropriate to the topic.
