Welcome to our Erasmus Guest Students!

Today the Welcome Session for Erasmus students in Bozen-Bolzano took place in the Aula Magna. More than 150 students attended the session, the highest number ever for the winter semester.

Finally Erasmus students are to be seen again in Bozen-Bolzano. After the long break caused by Covid, international exchanges under the Erasmus umbrella are back in full swing. This morning in the Aula Magna, the rector, Prof. Paolo Lugli, and the staff of the International Relations Service greeted the newcomers and introduced them to unibz, which will be their new home for the next six months.

"After more than two years of virtual welcome sessions, it is really nice to meet exchange students in person again. And there are so many of them this semester, more than 150. A number that before the pandemic we could boast in a whole year", says Dario Recla, head of International Relations.

This year, 151 exchange students wanted to spend their Erasmus time in South Tyrol. This is the highest figure ever recorded for a winter semester: a sign that unibz still is a popular choice for exchange students.

Exchange students at unibz arrive mainly from Europe, with a few exceptions: there are several Turkish nationals, three Taiwanese nationals, a Canadian citizen, an Israeli citizen, and a Ukrainian citizen. On a European level, unibz will host students from Norway, Finland, Slovakia, Germany, Poland, Spain, France, and Lithuania.

unibz has 162 Erasmus+ agreements, 41 bilateral agreements with non-European and Italian universities, and 5 Swiss European Mobility Programme Agreements that allow for a substantial flow of incoming and outgoing students.
