D’Auria, a researcher at the Smart Data Factory, won the “Best Leadership Award” during the IEEE Robotic Computing conference that took place in Naples this December.

Daniela D’Auria is a researcher at the Smart Data Factory, the technology transfer lab of the Faculty of Computer Science. Specializing in biomedical engineering and medical robotics, since April 2017 D’Auria has been one of the main organizers of the IEEE International Robotic Computing conference, which is held alternately one year in the U.S., one year in Taiwan and one year in Italy and serves as a bridge between the robotics and computer science academic communities.

The 2022 conference was held on December 5-7 in Naples and was attended by 362 authors from 29 countries. This year D’Auria’s effort and commitment to organizing such a large event earned her the “Best Leadership Award”, which was presented to her at the closing of the conference by the general chair of the IEEE conference, Prof. Phillip Sheu, from the University of California at Irvine, USA.
