This beginner course helps you build essential Spanish for everyday situations. You’ll learn to introduce yourself, talk about family, hobbies, routines, and more. Key grammar and vocabulary support communication in real-life and tourism contexts. You'll practice asking questions, giving directions, and expressing opinions. Bonus: Learn to write a presentation letter and create your first Spanish CV!

Este curso básico te enseña el español necesario para la vida cotidiana. Aprenderás a presentarte, hablar de tu familia, gustos, rutinas y tu ciudad. Vocabulario útil para turismo, deportes y eventos forma parte del contenido. Practicarás cómo pedir información, dar opiniones y describir hábitos. Incluye pautas para redactar una carta de presentación y un CV en español.

Themen der Lehrveranstaltung
The course is designed to acquire basic language skills in Spanish. At the end of the course the students will be able to introduce themselves, to talk about their families, about their likes and dislikes, about food, will be able to ask and give directions, to describe their city, to talk about daily habits.

Unterrichtsform
Frontal lectures with emphasis on student participation, pair work, group work, communicative approach.

ILO (Intended Learning Outcomes) ILO 1 - Knowledge and understanding ILO 1.1. Basic grammatical structures ILO 1.2. Basic vocabulary related to everyday life ILO 1.3. Basic vocabulary related to tourism, sport and events ILO 1.4. Guidelines for writing a cover letter and CV. ILO 2 - Ability to apply knowledge and understanding ILO 2.1. Reading, writing and communicating in the target language ILO 2.2. Understanding fundamental elements of the target culture through a linguistic approach ILO 2.3. Using specialised vocabulary in the fields of tourism, sport and events ILO 2.4. Preparing simple professional presentations. ILO 2.5. Basic concepts useful for following courses in economics, business and administration ILO 3 - Making judgements (Communication skills) ILO 3.1. Graduates of this degree programme will develop excellent communication skills in at least three languages and will have a basic knowledge of a fourth language.

Art der Prüfung
Final Written and Oral Exam: The written exam includes exercises designed to assess listening, reading and writing skills as well as basic grammar and vocabulary. The written exam includes the following sections: • Listening comprehension • Reading comprehension • Use of Spanish • Text composition The oral exam consists of review questions covering the main topics studied during the course. Assessment for attending/non-attending students is the same since this is a course of no obligatory attendance. Duration written test: 75 minutes Duration oral test: 6 to 7 minutes ILO (Intended Learning Outcomes). Assessment for attending/non-attending students is the same. WRITTEN EXAM: 80 points Assessment 1 - 20 points-. Listening comprehension, three tasks: select the correct information, write the correct words, write the correct information. ILOs 1.1, 1.2, 1.3; 2.2, 2.3, 2.5; 3.1 Assessment 2 - 20 points-. Reading comprehension, three tasks: select the correct information, match short texts and information; select the correct option. ILOs 1.1, 1.2, 1.3; 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.5; 3.1 Assessment 3 - 20 points-. Use of language (grammar and vocabulary), one task: select the correct option. ILOs 1.1, 1.2, 1.3; 2.2, 2.3, 2.5, 3.1 Assessment 4 -20 points-. Writing, one task: a short composition following specific guidelines. ILOs 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4; 2.1, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5; 3.1 ORAL EXAM: 20 points Assessment 1 -20 points -. Speaking, three tasks: introducing oneself, speaking about the main topics covered during the course, a short debate about a specific topic covered during the course, ILOs 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4; 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5; 3.1

Bewertungskriterien
Partial assessments: weighting of parts: 80% written and 20% oral. (100 points: 80 points written, 20 points oral.). Relevant for oral assessment: clarity of answers, mastery of the Spanish language, grammatical accuracy.
