M2 - Behavioral aspects of public service delivery; fundamental concepts and methodologies; practical application of behavioral principles to enhance the efficacy of public services; strategic incorporation of nudges, default settings and deadlines; analysis of specific public policies, from design to implementation challenges with a focus on sustainability.

ILO (Intended Learning Outcomes) Economics and Public Policy Design M1 Economics of the Public Sector ILO1 Knowledge and understanding ILO1.1 The student acquires the knowledge of economic theory necessary to understand and analyse economic and business phenomena in the public sector in order to support decision-making processes. Knowledge of public policy and the tools necessary for the design of sustainable policies will be consolidated. Knowledge related to the labour market, education and health will also be deepened, functional to the development of public policy analysis and evaluation skills. Art der Prüfung
M1 For Attending Students: 1. Presentation (20%): Students are required to present an article to the class. The presentation should summarize the article's aim, methodology, and main findings, and provide a critical assessment (ILO3, ILO4). 2. Project Report (40%): Students must submit a report, not exceeding 1,500 words, that transforms the presentation topic into a structured project format (ILO1, ILO2, ILO3, ILO5). 3. Written exam (40%): This 40-minute exam comprises multiple-choice and short review questions (ILO1, ILO2, ILO3). For Non-Attending students: Written exam (100%): This 60-minute exam comprises multiple choice and short review questions and an essay in which students demonstrate their critical thinking (ILO1, ILO2, ILO3, ILO4, ILO5). M2 For Attending Students: 20% team project presentation (ILO2, ILO3, ILO4), 20% team project report (ILO1, ILO2, ILO3, ILO5), 60% written exam (ILO1, ILO2, ILO3). For Non-Attending Students: 100% written exam. Exam: review questions (ILO1, ILO2, ILO3, ILO4, ILO5) NOTE: Project work and classroom presentations are valid for 1 academic year and cannot be carried over beyond that time-frame. The final grade is established by assigning 50% of the overall assessment to modules M1 and M2, respectively.
