Themen der Lehrveranstaltung
- Political and economic debate in Italy (and Europe) as presented in the media (young people, women, productivity, innovation, business sustainability, etc.) - The jobmarket: professional profiles and job applications (CVs, job offers, company information, cover letters, job interviews) - Technical language: textualisation, vocabulary and syntax. - Practice of specific grammatical topics for oral interaction and written communication. - Test examples (level C1) taken from Italian

Unterrichtsform
The teaching methodology encourages cooperation and participation among students both inside and outside the classroom through individual, pair and group work. Specifically, starting from rich and varied linguistic input, opportunities and activities for linguistic and thematic reflection are offered.

Bildungsziele und erwartete Lernergebnisse (zus. Informationen)
Knowledge and understanding: 1. Read/listen to and understand authentic texts on topics currently under public debate in Italy concerning economic and financial policies in Italy and the EU. 2. Discuss and interpret the proposed content. 3. Interact fluently and spontaneously with native speakers on economic topics. 4. Communicate using technical language, register and style appropriate to the academic and professional context. 5. Give a short presentation on a topic covered in class or in another course. 6. Describe and comment on statistics, surveys and graphs 7. Produce correct, coherent and cohesive texts on specific topics assigned or discussed in class, paying particular attention to the characteristics of specialist economic language

Art der Prüfung
To be admitted to the examination, students must submit a dossier to the lecturers at least 10 days before the examination date. The dossier will be assessed and will contribute to the final mark. The dossier contains three compulsory written assignments to be completed outside the classroom on key aspects of the programme + a PowerPoint presentation (the topic will be announced at the beginning of the course). The inclusion of other contributions, in addition to those assigned, is optional. The examination consists of two parts: 1. Written examination: > written test: assesses reading, vocabulary and textual comprehension skills. Duration: 60 minutes. The use of monolingual and bilingual dictionaries is not permitted. > dossier: (see above) 2. Oral examination: > discussion/interaction on the contents of the dossier and the topics covered during the course > PowerPoint presentation Duration: 15 min. Non-attending students will take the same exam as attending students and are invited to contact the lecturer on Teams or by email and log in to the platform regularly.

Bewertungskriterien
30% –> written test 20% –> dossier 30% –> oral test 20% –> PowerPoint presentation The dossier is assessed in terms of consistency of content and structure, as well as formal correctness. The assessment criteria are: clarity and completeness of responses, linguistic competence and correctness, ability to summarise, evaluate and establish relationships between topics.
